eFACTOR3 partners with Broadview Group International

eFACTOR3 announced a new strategic partnership with Broadview Group International (BGI), an engineering design and research firm specializing in advanced mechanical separation technologies. This collaboration expands access to BGI’s proprietary Rotary Impact Separator (RIS) technology, and their knowledge for providing recycling and materials recovery operations with proven solutions for processing some of the industry’s most challenging material streams.

Through this partnership, eFACTOR3 will support the demonstration, commercialization and deployment of BGI’s RIS technology across North America. A dedicated, commercial-scale RIS unit will be installed at eFACTOR3’s new test center, allowing prospective customers to evaluate their own feedstocks and see firsthand how the technology transforms contaminated materials into clean, marketable products through a dry mechanical process.

BGI’s Rotary Impact Separator can handle wet or dry feed, and is engineered to perform mechanical separation, cleaning and drying in a single step, without the use of water, heat or chemicals. The system uses controlled mechanical impact to liberate materials, dislodge dirt, sand, paper, labels, and other contaminants, and improve downstream material purity. This approach significantly reduces operating costs, minimizes infrastructure requirements, and eliminates the need for water treatment or other drying processes.

The RIS technology has been successfully applied across a wide range of material streams, including agricultural films and drip tape, MRF-derived films and rigids, paper and plastic separation, carpet recycling, artificial turf and label removal from rigid and flexible plastics. In documented applications, the system has demonstrated substantial reductions in contamination levels while improving end-product purity and downstream sorting performance.
