Tub grinders are frequently used in construction, demolition and other settings to clear and process wood material, whether to reduce the volume of material that must ultimately be moved from the site or for ease of movement in the work space involved. Zion Market Research reports that the global mobile wood tub grinder market value will reach $732.24 million by the end of 2032.
The following firms possess an abundance of expertise with that product and related equipment as well.
CW Mill’s (CW) products include large, industrial, HogZilla® brand grinding machines along with high performance hammermill cutting and grinding tools. The grinding machine and parts division serves many industries, including the municipal, commercial, agricultural, and industrial material processing industries, through providing whole machines and sub-components to process most organic and some non-organic materials. Special uses within these industries include recycled material processing, organic composting, forestry product grinding, mulch production, forestry derived fuel production, land clearing, scrap tire grinding, tire derived fuel production, waste volume reduction, utility right of way maintenance, disaster recovery and animal food processing.
In the 1970s, CW began manufacturing a PTO driven, tub grinder along with an electric powered grinder that could be used to grind paper, wood products, alfalfa, hay, grain and other low-density materials. By the 1980s, a machine built exclusively for grinding wood waste was on the product roster, and that machine was the HogZilla Grinder. The timing was purposeful and opportune as the farm sector was sluggish. Burning had long been the predominant method for wood waste removal in agricultural and land clearing operations, so air pollution and wildfire concerns prompted legislation to curtail the process.
“Being customer-driven is the basis for all that CW Mill does and has been for over 50 years. That approach is backed with experienced staff and advanced manufacturing equipment and we will continue to provide products for years to come. After enduring a pandemic, we have adapted to those challenges and now carry a larger inventory to support our customers,” said Brian Bergman, operations manager for CW Mill. “CW continues to grow and evolve along with advancements in technology. We stay abreast of the changes within the forestry and agriculture industries, focusing on recycling and downsizing material and our innovation continues. Each product that CW has developed, manufactured, and offered for over 50 years has been in large part, customer driven,” Bergman concluded.
Since 1983, Bandit has manufactured equipment for a multitude of wood waste and recycling markets. “The vision since the beginning is to build quality, highly productive, easy to maintain equipment providing years of dependable service. The commitment for quality, innovation, and dedication is instilled in every employee and is one of the main reasons why Bandit became an Employee-Owned Company (ESOP) in 2018. These core values ensure each Bandit machine will leave the factory ready to exceed your expectations,” Jason Morey, marketing manager, commented.
He added that Bandit horizontal grinders are supported by a highly trained dealer network. Each dealer has qualified parts, sales, and service personnel receiving ongoing training from Bandit. These dealers carry a wide variety of parts and machines to meet your needs and are supported by Bandit regional sales and parts representatives. Bandit introduced its first horizontal grinder, the Model 3680 in 1995. Since then, multiple models have been engineered and manufactured featuring a unique cuttermill for processing a diverse range of material. Expanding the horizontal grinder line last year, Bandit introduced its first hammermill grinder, further enhancing Bandit’s already expansive line of horizontal grinders.
Serving multiple applications, each grinder easily processes a variety of materials including but not limited to, biomass, chunk wood, compost, disaster clean-up, municipal solid waste, mulch, orchard recycling, pallets, plastic pipe, shingles, stumps, whole trees and more.
Morey concluded, “Cut it, chip it or hammer it with a Bandit horizontal grinder! With three different mill options, we can help you identify the grinding method that is best for your application. To learn more about Bandit equipment or to schedule a demonstration, please contact your local authorized Bandit dealer or visit our website.”
Precision Husky Corporation, celebrating their 60th anniversary, is an international manufacturer of waste wood processing equipment for the recycling, sawmill, and forestry industries. Whether whole tree chippers and flail debarkers for use in Australia, or stationary electric 5200 tub grinders used in Japan, Precision Husky has manufactured equipment for use in over 120 different countries.
Precision offers six different models of tub grinders and three horizontal grinder sizes. All tub and horizontal grinders may be trailer mounted, track mounted, or stationary mounted. All units are standard with diesel or electric motors. The tub grinder line ranges from the 200 HP PG 900 to the 1200 HP PG 5200. The 5200 tub and 4000 tub models may also use a Husky knuckle boom loader attached.
Steve Briscoe, sales manager stated, “The ProGrind Horizontal Grinders start with our 520HP H3045 and our largest horizontal is the H4060, with up to 1200 HP. These units may also be powered with electric motors. The standard hammermill may be replaced with a 2 knife or 4 knife drum chipper. This is an excellent way to change the desired end product with the use of one machine processing via grinding or chipping. All of these machines are used in different applications, including governmental agencies, waste haulers, composters, mulch producers, demolition contractors, sawmill, and land clearing contractors.” Precision also provides complete engineering services for complete bark processing plants and complete chip mill.
