The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) board of directors named Kevin Dempsey as president and chief executive officer of the AISI.
Dempsey had been serving as interim president and chief executive officer since June when he was appointed to succeed Thomas J. Gibson. Prior to that appointment, Dempsey had served as AISI’s senior vice president for public policy and general counsel since 2009.
Before joining AISI, Dempsey was a partner at Dewey & LeBoeuf, a global law firm, and its predecessor Dewey Ballantine LLP., and had served on Capitol Hill as counsel to Senator John C. Danforth (R-MO) and the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation.
