MORTON TOWNSHIP RECYCLING IN MICHIGAN RECEIVES $10,000 ICE MOUNTAIN GRANT

Morton Township Recycling Center, Michigan has received a $10,000 grant award from Blue Triton through its Ice Mountain brand.

Blue Triton brands, formerly Nestle Waters North America, has supported the Morton Township Recycling program with contributions now totaling $105,000.

Located at 8560 Midstate Drive, the recycling center serves about 250 customers per week and has maintained a recycling volume of 90 plus tons per year for the past 2 years, with 91 tons recycled between July 2021 and June 2022 and 93 tons between July 2020 and June 2021.

Arlene Anderson-Vincent, natural resources manager with BlueTriton Brands salutes the great strides being made by local community recycling centers. These rural community-based recycling programs provide residents the resources needed to dispose of and repurpose materials like cardboard and plastics, as well as safe disposal of toxic household hazardous wastes like oil, paint, and other chemicals.

“We applaud Morton Township Recycling Center, Osceola Township’s spring and fall clean up days, and Mecosta and Osceola-Lake Conservation District’s annual Household Hazardous Waste Collection program,” she said. “Ice Mountain is pleased to award $10,000 each to Morton and Osceola township recycling programs and through the Ice Mountain Environmental Stewardship Fund, $12,900 to the Mecosta and Osceola-Lake Conservation District Household Hazardous Waste Collection program.”
