The New Hampshire the Beautiful, Inc. (NHtB) board of directors has voted to approve over $18,000 in Recycling Equipment Grant funding for six New Hampshire towns and the Coös County Recycling Center:
- The Town of Bristol was awarded $1,662 towards the purchase of two new storage containers to help keep recyclable material clean and dry, ensuring the best marketability of the materials.
- The Town of Loudon was awarded $855 towards the purchase of a new
48 foot trailer for cardboard storage. - The Town of New London was awarded $800 towards the purchase of a compactor for mixed paper recycling. Town residents were excited to see paper once again recycled in New London after a year long pause.
- The Town of Stratford was awarded $4,517 towards the purchase of a vertical baler to help with the management and sale of recyclable materials.
- The Town of Thornton was awarded $4,319 towards the purchase of a new baler that will be used to bale and manage plastic recycling.
- The Town of Warren was awarded $1,500 towards the purchase of a fork truck with bale clamps and accessories. It will help improve the transfer stationʼs service to the public by moving recycling bales and bulky items around the facility and making room for more residential recyclable materials.
- The Coös County Recycling Center, was awarded $4,520 towards the purchase of three new recycling collection containers. The Recycling Center provides a central processing facility for recyclable commodities for eight area towns in New Hampshireʼs North Country.
The NH the Beautiful Recycling Equipment Grant program is available to any New Hampshire Municipal Recycling Center or Transfer Station. The grant program is designed to assist communities with the purchase of equipment to facilitate or improve municipal recycling programs.
