NWRA names Michael Hoffman as chief executive officer

The National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA) has selected Michael E. Hoffman to lead the organization as president and chief executive officer. NWRA’s board of trustees selected Hoffman after a comprehensive search and interview process that included a pool of highly qualified candidates from inside and outside of the waste and recycling industry. Hoffman has been an active member of NWRA for several years and is a veteran of the sector with decades of financial experience with the environmental industry business model. In 2020, Hoffman also was honored as an inductee into NWRA’s Hall of Fame.

Hoffman holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Widener University and a Master of Business Administration from Cornell University. For more than 37 years, Hoffman’s focus has been the waste and recycling industry, having most recently served as Stifel’s managing director and group head of diversified industrial research for the environmental services, specialty distribution and other industrial sectors.

Hoffman will begin his duties with NWRA on June 10, 2024.
