ReMA commends House Committee passage of bill to boost recycling investment

Recycled Materials Association (ReMA) president Robin Wiener released the following statement in response to House Energy and Commerce Committee passage of H.R. 2145, the Recycling Infrastructure and Accessibility Act (RIAA):

“ReMA applauds the House Energy and Commerce Committee for advancing the Recycling Infrastructure and Accessibility Act (H.R. 2145), bipartisan legislation that recognizes the essential role recycled materials play in strengthening U.S. manufacturing, supply chains, and sustainability goals.

“Access to modern recycling infrastructure is critical to ensuring high-quality recycled materials can be processed efficiently and returned to the manufacturing supply chain. By improving access to financing tools for recycling infrastructure projects, this legislation will help drive investment, expand domestic processing capacity, and support economic growth in communities across the country.

“ReMA thanks Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks (R-IA) and Rep. Joe Neguse (D-CO) for their leadership on this important legislation and looks forward to continuing to work with Congress to advance policies that strengthen the U.S. recycling system and support the circular economy.”
