Troy, Michigan recycler Rivore Metals has filed for voluntary Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, according to a filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in the eastern district of Michigan.
Rivore Metals is a ferrous and nonferrous metals broker and processor. Rivore requested first-day relief so it can maintain ongoing business operations, according to the September filing.
According to the bankruptcy filing, the company estimated it has assets of up to $50,000 and liabilities $1mn to 10mn, according the filing.
Rivore owes more than $7.2 million and operated two recycling facilities in Detroit and one in Pontiac, Michigan.
