Waste Management, Inc. (WM) finalized its merger with Stericycle, Inc. after receiving approval from the Competition Bureau of Canada, ensuring compliance with antitrust and investment laws.
The previously announced purchase price of $62.00 per share in cash represents a total enterprise value of approximately $7.2 billion. Beginning November 4, 2024, Stericycle stock will no longer be traded on the NASDAQ.
As part of WM, the regulated medical waste and secure information destruction businesses will benefit from a range of synergies, including leveraging WM’s expertise in logistics, technology-enabled cost optimization, and its leading waste disposal network, among others. The merger will see Stericycle become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Waste Management, promising potential growth and market expansion for investors.
