McNeilus Truck and Manufacturing, Inc. announced that ACE Recycling & Disposal, a leading refuse and recycling provider serving more than one million people each week across Utah and Wyoming, has added its first McNeilus® Volterra™ ZSL™ electric side loader refuse collection vehicle to its fleet.
The vehicle marks an important step in ACE Recycling & Disposal’s commitment to sustainability, operational efficiency and providing drivers with advanced technology designed to promote safety and comfort.
After evaluating several electric refuse collection vehicles, ACE Recycling & Disposal selected the McNeilus Volterra ZSL following a demonstration that highlighted the vehicle’s battery performance, advanced safety technologies and driver-focused design.
“We’re always looking for ways to operate more sustainably while improving efficiency across our fleet,” said Isaac Leituala, general manager of ACE Recycling & Disposal. “After evaluating several electric refuse collection vehicles, we were impressed by the Volterra ZSL’s battery life and the overall driver experience. Purpose-built to meet the demands of residential refuse and recycling collection, the McNeilus Volterra ZSL features an advanced electric drivetrain, smart battery management system and cooperative regenerative braking to enable all-day route performance on a single charge. Certified as a zero-emission vehicle by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the California Air Resources Board (CARB), the vehicle helps fleets support sustainability initiatives while reducing emissions.
