Waste Pro has been named the third largest privately owned company in Central Florida by the Orlando Business Journal in its annual Golden 100 list. This is the seventh consecutive year Waste Pro has ranked in the Top Five on the list.
Founded by executive board chairman John Jennings in 2001, Waste Pro operates in 10 southeastern states, with its home base of Florida being its most dominant market area. Waste Pro quickly grew into one of the fastest-growing private companies nationwide – in its first month, revenues only reached $800. Today, Waste Pro provides residential, commercial, and industrial solid waste services to more than two million customers throughout 10 southeast states, employing more than 4,600 people with a fleet of over 3,200 trucks operating out of 90 locations. The company also operates 25 landfills and 11 transfer stations. Waste Pro is projected to exceed $1.1 billion in revenue in 2023.
Sean Jennings was named president and chief executive officer in 2021 and has continued to lead Waste Pro’s massive growth. “To be honored in our hometown with this ranking on the Orlando Business Journal’s Golden 100 is a testament to the hard work of our people, our Waste Pros.” He shared, “To rank within the top five companies for seven straight years is a reminder of how far my father took this incredible company that he created and his trust in me to continue his legacy. We continue to lead by example in caring for our communities. This is a 100 year company, so this is just the beginning for us; we plan to continue to grow, innovate, and look forward to the future.”
