Pride Disposal & Recycling Company has ordered two McNeilus® Volterra™ ZSL™ electric refuse and recycling collection vehicles (eRCVs). The new vehicles will be delivered to the Oregon-based waste and recycling hauler, marking a significant step forward in Pride Disposal’s sustainability efforts and commitment to advanced technology.
Pride Disposal selected the Volterra ZSL eRCV to meet the unique demands of their diverse service area, which includes both urban neighborhoods and rural communities. With varying elevations and some routes requiring a 30 minute drive from their facility, Pride Disposal needed a solution that could handle the geographic challenges while maintaining sufficient battery life. Following a demonstration in which the Volterra ZSL electric vehicle performed flawlessly across all service areas, the company chose to integrate two electric vehicles into its fleet.
The McNeilus Volterra ZSL eRCV is a purpose built, fully integrated electric refuse and recycling collection vehicle designed to deliver exceptional performance while supporting sustainability goals. The truck features innovative technology, including a 360-degree camera system, blind-spot monitoring, lane departure warnings and advanced emergency braking. These features, combined with best-in-class visibility, help drivers navigate routes more safely and efficiently.
The Volterra ZSL eRCVs will be produced at McNeilus’ new, manufacturing facility in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, while the compaction assemblies are built at the companyʼs headquarters in Minnesota. This integrated production approach ensures the highest quality standards and quick delivery to customers.
