ReMA board to consider addition to nonferrous specification

Following approval by the Nonferrous Division, the Recycled Materials Association (ReMA) board of directors will consider the following addition to the existing nonferrous specifications at the upcoming board meeting in July.

New Specification:
Vesper – Can be made up of aluminum sheet, extrusion, and/or plate grades (wrought aluminum) segregated from Zorba or Twitch. The material must be dry, and not contain more than 1 percent max free Mg, 1 percent max free Zn, and 0.50 percent analytical Fe. Not containing more than 1 percent max non-metallics. Material should be free of excessively oxidized material, air bag canisters, or any sealed or pressurized items. Any variation to be sold by special arrangement between buyer and seller.

More information about the rules governing the procedures from the addition, amendment, or withdrawal of ReMA’s ISRI Specifications can be found at www.isrispecs.org. To submit comments, recommendations or questions please contact senior economist Bret Biggers bbiggers@recycledmaterials.org. If adopted or amended, there will be an open comment period for 30 days following the vote by the board.
